Sam Mehta

Sam Mehta is a retired IBM executive with a life-long passion for photography, mountains and adventure travel.

Sam has traveled the world to both tourist and exotic destinations. He completed the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal and has trekked and toured other regions in the Himalayas (Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand). Sam’s work was published in a hardcover, coffee table book entitled “Himalayas: People and Places” released in December, 2013.

Sam donates 100% of the proceeds from the sale of his images on his website (www.sammehtaimages.com) and donated 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book. The selected charities focus on education of children in the region.

Sam’s next project is The Silk Road and will cover Xinjiang (China), Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey.

Sam has been a photo enthusiast all his adult life. He shoots in digital format with Cannon 5D with various Cannon lenses. Sam is an active member of the famed The Explorers Club. He is a graduate of New York Institute of Photography.

Sam’s formal education includes an MBA from Columbia University, New York, and a BS in Engineering from BITS, India.
